Located in the Highlands of Louisville, Kentucky, we founded GroMama in 2013 to share a love of growing useful things. You can benefit from our experience tinkering and gardening for people with super busy lives--we need some tricks and technologies to help things along! Just in 2016 advances in smart home devices and integrating fish habitats into our gardening projects are making the future look GREEN at GroMama.
2016 brought the introduction of our non-profit GoodTurn Recycled products line. Having met the fine folks at Kentucky Refugee Ministries STITCH Program and assisting them with sewing instruction for new immigrants in the community, we saw the need for opportunities for people with sewing skills to work at home. Community-minded local brewers saved tough grain bags that would have been destined for the landfill for us. We clean them, provide the other supplies needed for a finished product, and take care of the transportation, sales, and logistics. Our new community members earn income, pride and self-sufficiency. Look for other recycled products as we expand our line!
A partnership with Bellarmine University's new Refugee Studies Center is in the works. More on this as it develops!
